Hymns and Pimm’s

On Saturday 6th September 2025 over 80 people came into church to sing a selection of favourite hymns and drink a glass (or two) of Pimm’s (or something softer).

The musical accompaniment was provided by Martin Fox, our Organist, and his friends.

  • Martin Fox – piano and bass guitar
  • Cath Fox – flute and bass guitar
  • Peter Nicholls – guitar
  • John Fellows – organ and piano
  • Merry Smith – violin
  • Kearon Myatt – singing

People had been encouraged to send in their favourite hymns beforehand and 15 of those were sung. Those not used may included in a future event and may well be included during services in the coming months.

These hymns were sung:

  • Colours of Day
  • I the Lord of Sea and Sky ( Here I am Lord)
  • Shine Jesus Shine ( Lord the Light of Your Love)
  • One more step
  • Lord of the Dance ( I Danced in the morning)
  • He’s got the whole world
  • Guide me o thou great Redeemer
  • O Jesus I Have Promised ( Tune – Hatherop Castle)
  • Bless the Lord ( Ten Thousand Reasons)
  • This little light of mine
  • Oh for a thousand tongues to sing
  • Give me joy in my heart
  • My Lighthouse
  • A new commandment
  • Were you there?

Those hymns which were requested but not included were:

  • Praise my Soul the King of Heaven

  • All Things Bright and Beautiful
  • Bind us together

A raffle was held which together with other donations raised £357 for The Haven Refuge in Wolverhampton.
