Services for Holy Week and Easter 2025

Join us as we mark the events leading up the Our Lord’s Crucifixion and then His Resurrection.

Palm Sunday – 13th April
- Our Lord’s entry into Jerusalem riding on a donkey
  - 10.00 am Family Communion
  - 6.30 pm Evening Service in the Iona style
Tuesday of Holy Week – 15th April
- 6.00 pm Prayers for Peace
Wednesday of Holy Week – 16th April
- 10.00 am Holy Communion
  - a said service of about 45 minutes using the Book of Common Prayer
  - followed by “Drop In” for tea/coffee and cake
Maundy Thursday – 17th April
- The Last Supper and Our Lord’s betryal and arrest
  - 7.30 pm Holy Communion and Stripping of the Altars
    - a service of Holy Communion with Hymns using Common Worship
    - to commemorate the Last Supper and the Institution of the Eucharist
    - followed by the removal of the hangings and decorations leaving the altars bare for Good Friday
Good Friday – 18th April
- the Crucifixion and Death of Jesus
  - 10.00 am Building the Easter Garden
    - for children and parents followed by an Easter Egg Hunt
  - 2.00 pm Final Hour at the Cross
    - a service of hymns, prayers and meditation to mark the last hour of Our Lord’s crucifixion
Easter Day – 20th April
- The Resurrection of Jesus
- He is Risen! Alleluia!
  - 10.00 am Communion Service for Easter
    - the service will include parts led by the Youth Group.
    - followed by coffee and a chat
  - 6.30 pm Songs of Praise for Easter

All services will be held in St. Chad’s Church, Pattingham.

Easter card

A card has been delivered to all homes in the parish which includes details of the services and a message from the Chairman of the PCC. There was a competition to produce the image for the front which was won by Cath Fox. Details can be found on this page.
