‘Churchwardens’ Chat’

We are now in an interregnum following the retirement of the Vicar and so the monthly letter for the Parish News is written by the Churchwardens

Trust and Obey …
John H Sammis 1887

“When we walk with the Lord in the Light of His ways, what a glory he sheds on our way … ‘ Trust in Our Lord” …

This is what we have been trying to do since Vicar Maureen left but it is a real challenge when we are impatient to find our new priest!

One of the things we have learned is that through prayer we can (and have) achieved a beautiful sense of calm, that when the time is right, God will reveal more of His plan for us.
At the time of writing, we have received the wonderful news that there are two applicants for the post of vicar. Interviews will take place towards the middle of this month and we will update you after the interviews.

In the meantime, please join us to pray for the applicants and the interview panel, in the decision making which lies ahead.

Thank you to all who have entered our Easter Card competition, we look forward to seeing the chosen entry on our card for 2025.

It is with sadness we recognise the war between Ukraine and Russia is entering its third year. Join us to pray for the people of Ukraine and for the bereaved and the families of the injured, at our Prayers for Peace (Tuesdays 6pm).

Several comments from our Annual Survey of 2024 were very positive about the wide range of service styles within our worship. To build on this, (thanks to our organist Martin, Cath and to Dominic, Peter and Patrick), we had a band play at our February Family Service, led by Philip Sims.

This was very well received, adding more joy and energy to our service and the PCC will now consider how to further build a variety of worship styles in the future.

Plans are underway for our July summer fete on Saturday, July 5 and competition entry forms will be included in our church Easter Card.

Planning is also going on for another Scarecrow Festival, on September 26-28, when there will be something for every member of our community to enjoy.

God Bless, and if you are feeling lonely or just want a chat, get in touch.
