Snippets from the PCC Meeting – 18th March 2025

Among the matters discussed at the PCC meeting on March 18 were:

Youth and family worker

The PCC remains committed to filling this post but is pausing further steps until the new Vicar is in post to ensure that she is fully involved in the plans.

Pattingham Past and Present

This event, which was our final action for this year’s Dementia Friendly Church certificate, was extremely successful.

At least 125 people attended and lots of memories were shared. Tracey Willias said that she was completely overwhelmed by the response; it was truly inspiring and to see everyone coming together was so heartwarming.

Church fabric

The members of the Fabric Committee, and in particular Mike Richards, continue their tireless work to keep our church building in good order. Current projects include repairs to the plaster in the Lady Chapel, additional lights to illuminate the path to the west door as it passes the porch and repairs to damaged or loose floor tiles.

Annual meeting

Preparations for the annual meeting continue. The annual report and accounts were approved by the PCC for submission to the independent examiner. They have since been approved and by the PCC and are now ready to be made available for the meeting.

A new electoral roll is being prepared and that will have been completed by the time this magazine appears. For those who have not submitted an application by the deadline, applications can be received at any time but cannot now be processed until after the annual meeting.

The meeting will be held in church at 11.30 am on Sunday, May 11. It is hoped that we will be able to give some details about the plans for the north aisle which have recently been considered by the Diocesan Advisory Committee.

Three members of the PCC come to the end of their terms of office this year and are eligible for re-election.

There are also four other vacancies which should be filled if possible. Please consider whether you can contribute to the church as a member of the PCC as it moves forward into a new chapter in its journey.

PCC members

The members of the PCC are:
Philip Sims (Chairman), Tony Ainsworth, Iain Coleman, Milly Colin-Stokes, Geoffrey Dann, Henry Ibberson, Clive Pendrell, Alan Smith, Dorothy Steel, Graham Tritton and Tracey Williams.
