‘Churchwardens’ Chat’
We are now in an interregnum following the retirement of the Vicar and so the monthly letter for the Parish News is written by the Churchwardens

I know that my redeemer liveth!
Handel’s Messiah – third part
What a joyous message for us to hold on to in times of joy, times of grief and in times of disappointment and frustration!
We recently received the disappointing news that although there were two applicants for our post of vicar their applications did not progress to the stage of interview.
We all get over difficult times in so many different ways but at the heart of all our decision making and ‘doing’ is Our Lord Jesus Christ.
We now continue to pray for strength and perseverance to carry on with our mission and work in our community and to trust in God.
When we say The Lord’s Prayer we say, “Thy will be done . . . “ and now is the time for us to pray and remember this; we know God has a plan and although it is hard, we must be patient!
Our weekly prayer group continues, when we gather to pray for all affected by war particularly in Ukraine and Russia. Do join us if you are able – 6pm on Tuesdays for 15 minutes.
We have planned our Easter services to provide a variety of opportunities for worship during Holy Week and also for children and families to have fun! Why not come to our Good Friday service when we can all help build the Easter Garden!
Our Eco wild area is beginning to look lovely with the daffodils planted by Year 4 pupils from St. Chad’s School and it will hopefully prove to be a welcoming area for wild creatures, birds and insects as we install our bird boxes, hedgehog and bug hotels!
We continue to offer Home Communion to anyone who cannot get out of the house so let us know if you would like a visit.
Finally, we are grateful Bishop Clive, Archdeacon Julian and Rural Dean Julia for their support in trying to find a new vicar and we give thanks for all visiting priests who help to sustain us, leading our worship and preaching the Word of God.
We know you share our disappointment and pray with us and for us.
God Bless
Clive Pendrell and Dorothy Steel
