‘Churchwardens’ Chat’
We are now in an interregnum following the retirement of the Vicar and so the monthly letter for the Parish News is written by the Churchwardens
June 2024
I alone know the plans I have for you …. Jeremiah 29:11
We are told to seek Our Lord in prayer, and if we seek, we shall find … !
This is much easier to read or to write down than it is to ‘live’!
But this is what we are asked to do, and yes, we are up for the challenge!
We had our Annual Church Meeting on May 12, when we were all encouraged to rethink what we are doing and how we can help, sharing the light of Christ, following His Word in Pattingham and beyond.
Yes, it is hard work but there is joy and fun as well!
Fete Day is Saturday, Ju;y 6 and it is going to be very special; can you help on the day or sell some raffle tickets beforehand? If so, please get in touch with Alix and Keith, email them at
There are competitions to enter and we hope it will be a day for the whole family to come and enjoy.
If however, you are on your own, there will be many people to welcome you and an opportunity to wander around the stalls and then sit down with a cup of tea and cake!
We can’t do it without you, so please, do join us, continue to work with us, share your ideas and most of all pray with us.
The conflict, war and sadness in the world around us, makes us appreciate and give thanks for our beautiful village and surrounding community; the fields are showing growth as a result of all the hard work by our farmers, and the warmer weather and lighter nights help us find renewed energy and hope.
We are as busy as ever but now is the time to take a moment, light a candle, reflect on our blessings and think how to best meet God’s challenges, for us as a church and as individuals.
We shall all remember: ” … seek and you will find … “
If you or anyone you know is unable to get to church, Home Communion is available: just get in touch.
God Bless,
Clive Pendrell and Dorothy Steel,
Churchwardens
