In this week’s ChadNet:

View from the Pews

Graham Tritton

As the end of the financial year draws closer, I suppose it’s natural that we all start thinking about our finances and the inevitable bills we will be presented with.  It’s the same for me as church treasurer as I finalise the Annual Report and Accounts.

As you can imagine, we as a church have considerable expenses in the Common Fund for the Lichfield diocese, maintenance, heating, upkeep of the churchyard, etc., and I would like to say a big THANK YOU to all the people who provide financial support to St Chad’s by their regular giving, donations at services, Century Club, attending events, etc.

Of course, “giving” doesn’t just mean money.  We would like to thank all those folk who give to the church in other ways: their time, their talents, their support when we hold events such as the fête or Scarecrow Festival, to name but two.  This is greatly appreciated, and means that we as a church can be actively involved in village life.

In the same way as you all give generously to the church, we in our turn want to support many local and national charities; and with your help we are able to do so.  We published a list of the organisations we supported in December.  At the back of the church there is a folder with this list and the responses from those that we supported.

Our aim, as a church, is to be the hub of the village; a place where we show that we care, and it’s with the support of all of you, that we are able to do so.

Thank you.

Graham Tritton
PCC Treasurer

Please ensure that you complete the form fully, including your name and address and ticking the correct boxes, and sign it.

Dementia Friendly Church

Weekly Prayer

Becoming Dementia Friendly Church 2024-25

O Lord, only you know the battles we face,
the tears we shed.
Help us to live this and every day under the
shadow of your wing.
Give us patience to forebear whatever life
brings us.  Courage to face it head on, strength
to keep moving forward, laughter to enjoy
ourselves and above all your love to
encompass it.
Amen
