ChadNet - the eBulletin of St Chad’s Church, Pattingham with Patshull

Welcome to this week’s edition of ChadNet – the eBulletin of St Chad’s Church, Pattingham with Patshull.

In this week’s ChadNet:

View from the Pews

Ken Scott

A very big thank you

Both Anne and I would like to convey to everyone in St Chad’s and the village an enormous thank you for all the kindness shown to us at the time of my ceasing to be a lay minister in the Parish.

It was a great privilege to take my last service on Easter Sunday and an honour to see the number of people who attended. There were about 160 there on Sunday evening. My family, who were there, appreciated the really warm welcome from all the members of the congregation. Thank you to all those who came and joined in the Easter celebration.

Another thanks to all those who have sent cards with delightful messages and good wishes for retirement.

The friendship we have received over the sixteen years we have been in Pattingham has been amazing and I trust we have been able to help people in return especially when they really needed it.

Most of all thanks for the gifts which were presented after the service. The flowers were lovely and the cheque overwhelming. Those of you who were there will know that I was really quite overcome and lost for words when Philip described how much had been raised. We are both still getting our heads around your generosity and we accept it in the spirit in which it was given, of love and kindness.

I end my ministry content that Rev. Merry Smith will be here shortly to take up the task of leading St Chad’s into its next stage of development. May God bless the Church we belong to here in Pattingham and all its people.

With our love
Ken and Anne Scott
