Heating
The diocesan architect has recommended work in the North Aisle, including channels for pipework and re-positioning of radiators. The PCC has agreed in principle to his recommendations and will now obtain three estimates for the work. The paperwork for a faculty application was completed and submitted in early February. An acknowledgement that it is sufficient for the purposes of the DAC has been received. It will go before the DAC on 8th March. A 28 day notice with details of the proposed work has been published from 5th February. It also appears on the church website.
AV Monitors
Two monitors were stolen from church on Christmas Day. The police and the insurance company were informed. The cost of replacement less excess has been covered by insurance. Since the police asked whether we have CCTV we have agreed in principle to installing CCTV and made enquiries for an estimate from a local firm. PCC policy will be that footage from the cameras will not be reviewed unless there is a security incident. In the meantime we have decided with great sadness to keep the church locked when there is no service taking place. The church will remain closed until CCTV is operational. At that point it will be reopened on the previous basis of daylight hours.
Telephone Mast
You may remember that about a year ago we received an enquiry from O2 about having a telephone mast installed in the church tower. We have now received a letter from Vodaphone proposing a site visit to carry out a survey inside church. Watch this space!
Visitors’ Book
A smart new visitors’ book has been purchased and will be on the welcome table in church.
