‘Churchwardens’ Chat’

We are now in an interregnum following the retirement of the Vicar and so the monthly letter for the Parish News is written by the Churchwardens

Loving God, because you have the whole world in your hands, cradle gently those who are rocked by fear, shocked to a depth they have never known and frightened to face tomorrow . . .

The Pattingham Scarecrow Festival is such wonderful fun, something for the whole community and for all drivers and cyclists who pass through our village!

Many thanks to the organising committee, to businesses and individuals who support the festival and to all the volunteers who work hard to help make the event a success.

The Shower Singers have returned! Wednesdays, 6pm to 7pm in church – do give it a try, all ages welcome, no cost, just come for an hour of singing fun! Those who attend are invited to take an item of grocery for our Food Bank box, supporting The Well, (a Christian-based food bank helping people all around our area) or pop some coins into our ‘Well’ in church to support the work it does.

On Saturday 9th September our church was open to welcome visitors from all over the county as part of the Ride and Stride tour of historic churches in South Staffordshire. Many thanks to those who kindly gave their time to help prepare and serve the refreshments and to be stewards in church.

St. Mary’s at Patshull was also on the list of churches to be visited and our gardener worked hard to tidy up the graveyard as part of our maintenance work.

If you or anyone known to you would like to receive Home Communion please get in touch and we shall be pleased to arrange it.

Vicar news? Sorry, no; we have not yet found our new vicar but we carry on God’s work and welcome all to join us at one of our services when visiting clergy lead us in our worship.

Please pray that our search for a new vicar will be fruitful.

If you have any concerns, questions or ideas about any of our events, worship or about any church matters do please get in touch.
