We are returning to something closer to normal.
It is up to each individual to decide whether or not they should wear a face covering in church.
The church doors will remain closed during services to help to keep the church warm.
In the pews by the wall of the South Aisle we will continue to ask that social distancing be maintained so that those who wish to maintain social distancing can do so.
Do not attend church if you have any covid symptoms or are meant to be isolating.
View from the Pews
Hi, for those who don’t know me, I have lived in the village all my life, worked at The Pigot prior to uni, was a member of St. Chad’s Church Youth Group and am now a Physiotherapist working for the NHS in Staffordshire and Physio to a semi-pro men’s football team in Sutton Coldfield.
As I go about my work, meeting patients and learning a little about their lives, I understand the impact of poor physical and mental health, poverty, and loneliness. Some of my patients struggle to find the money for transport to hospital and have to request a telephone consultation.
I reflect on how very fortunate I am; I live in this amazing village with fresh air, great walks which I have the good health to enjoy, and the beauty of nature all around. I have a great family, friends, and I only have to step outside our house to see someone who says ‘hello’.
Yes, I have a lot to be grateful for, and I am thankful to God for all I have and can appreciate. I, like everyone else, am very busy, but I think it’s important to try and find some time to realise what you need to be grateful for and to think and pray for those who are not so fortunate. I am like many people – I don’t always do enough for others, but whenever we have a ‘big tidy-up’ I take my stuff to re-cycle or the charity shop and I try to support charities as and when I can.
St. Chad’s to me is like a part of my family – it’s great to get to know people and experience what is there; to share and be part of, right in the centre of our village.
See you at St. Chad’s sometime to say hello, or on a walk/run around the village.
All the best
Tom Steel
