Welcome to this week’s edition of ChadNet – the eBulletin of St Chad’s Church, Pattingham with Patshull.

Where has all the spirit gone?

No I’m not thinking of all the bottles of spirits you may have bought for Christmas or my Whisky collection!

But the willingness to give your time and effort to make our community of Pattingham, to make it a better place to live for both the young and the old.

Community spirit !

One Pattingham person recently commented ‘Pattingham is a great place to grow old but not a great place to grow up in‘.

St Chad’s Church is working to address this by facilitating both community events and hopefully a youth and family support worker.

To do these things we need volunteers to give their time, energy, and skills. Whether it’s a few hours occasionally or a regular longer-term commitment, everyone has something to offer.

A survey completed previously by village residents highlighted some areas where we could develop more community-based events and support. A few ideas that are either underway or being discussed include:

  • Activities for the young people of the village including a regular weekly club and holiday clubs in conjunction with Kingswood Trust
  • Village event committee
  • Who’s for Lunch
  • Dementia Support
  • Community litter picking
  • Scarecrow festival September
  • Village Celebrations for the coronation
  • The Village Fete
  • Safe space for girls
  • Warm space to come and chat. And many, many, more !

And many, many, more !

Your village community needs you!

Please come forward and let’s discuss how you may help!

Initially email your details to . Henry, Alan or I from St Chad’s O&G group will contact you to discuss.
